Now that the warm rays of sunshine have reached us again, we are slowly starting to feel the itch to start our annual spring cleaning. 1 in 3 does a thorough cleaning every year. But what if you can't find the motivation to tackle your entire home? Or what if you don't know where to start? We give you some effective tips so that you can quickly get into a positive cleaning mood !
- A clean house = a tidy mind
Cleaning and tidying up are not something that comes naturally to everyone. It is often something that we postpone and think: 'we can do that next week'. But it can pile up more and more every week and at a certain point we can't see the forest for the trees. As a result, spring cleaning usually becomes an annual event.
A handy tip to tidy up or clean faster is to keep track of it . This makes the mental aspect easier and gives us more energy. Try to set a reminder in your smartphone or keep a space free in a physical agenda every week .

2. Something is better than nothing!
Not everyone has the time to start a full spring cleaning. An alternative is to try to free up 15 minutes every few days to divide up the chores. Make a list of everything that needs to be done and check off each one that you have managed to complete. This makes it more manageable and you won’t be overwhelmed by the amount of work. Try to visualize it as much as possible. Writing a to-do list , making a mood board or watching YouTube videos with extra tips all help!
3. Find other activities to keep it varied and fun
It doesn't have to be the usual cleaning and tidying up. Try a different activity during your spring cleaning!
Here are some fun variations:
Pick up litter! During the month of March, various cities and municipalities are organizing clean-up actions that you can participate in. This way, you can do your part and enjoy the outdoors (and maybe even the sun).
Find leftovers of all your household products and put them together. It is often confronting to see how many we have lying around. This can motivate us to use them up during spring cleaning.
Do it for someone else. There are always people who could use some extra help, but may not dare to ask. Surprise someone you know with a small cleaning or repair. And who knows, you might get a free cup of coffee.
Plant fresh herbs. It is not only for people with a large garden to plant fresh herbs. Even in an apartment or studio it is possible to do this. Ask for some information at your local DIY store or plant shop.

4. Sustainable and economical
It can be fun to try replacing your current products and materials one by one with more sustainable alternatives . Try to do research on what can be improved. BRAUZZ. can already offer a sustainable solution for 5 products . Our cleaners already give you three different options. The all-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner and bathroom cleaner do what they are supposed to do and they each come in a reusable bottle . You add our powders, fill the bottles with water and… start cleaning! Our natural and compostable sponge cloths ensure that you can really scrub the products well.
To wash you can use washing strips . Washing-what? Washing strips! This handy alternative to detergent is not only sustainable, but also makes it so much easier for you. It weighs almost nothing, takes up little space, you simply throw it in your washing machine without having to dose and is simply delivered through the letterbox. In addition, there is no waste!

5. Provide a reward
We all know that we perform better when we know there is a reward. Find out for yourself what kind of reward can motivate you to pick up that sponge and go bananas! Is it a chocolate (or two)? Watching an episode of your favorite series? Going for a walk at sunset? Try to find what works for you to stimulate and inspire you!
6. And lastly…
Remember that cleaning can give you peace and try to think as much as possible about the end result . That way we make it a lot easier for ourselves and it doesn't always have to be such a hard task!
Try to enjoy the sun every now and then during a short cleaning break.
Good luck and don't forget to turn up your favorite playlist loud enough.
