In times of Covid-19, teleworking has become the new norm. As much as possible, people are asked to work from home, but how do you do that low-waste? Low-waste is a concept that makes you as aware of waste as possible and encourages you to waste less. Use these tips for your first steps towards a low-waste lifestyle while working from home!
Tip 1: Move your desk
Use the sun as a light source as much as possible. Move your desk to your windows so that the sun can illuminate your workspace during the day. This will reduce the need to turn on the light. Switch to LED bulbs if you do need to turn on your light.
Tip 2: Reduce your paper use
There are several ways to reduce your paper usage.
Initially, try to only print when absolutely necessary.
Another way is to use an online agenda and online notes. There are all kinds of apps for that, think of Evernote or Google Calendar.
Tip 3: get rid of disposable plastic
Use a drinking bottle or carafe and fill it with tap water each time. This way, you no longer have to buy plastic bottles and you are doing both your wallet and the environment a favor. Is your tap water not ready to drink right away? Then buy a water filter to purify it.
Tip 4: Remove your trash can
A somewhat strange tip you might think at first, but there is a logic behind it. By no longer putting your waste bin at your desk, you will think more consciously about what you throw away. The waste will not simply disappear from your desk, you will be confronted with what you throw away and whether you needed it in the first place.
Tip 5: ensure a clean workplace
Try to clean your desk as often as possible and give all things a permanent place and remove unnecessary things. A clean workplace ensures less stress, more motivation and therefore better output. The only right low-waste cleaning product for this is of course the BRAUZZ. all-purpose cleaner. With this 100% biodegradable and disposable plastic-free product you let your workplace shine!
